Tip Getting Good Sound

Most still digital cameras have a tiny microphone on the front of the camera, near the lens, although some have it located on the top or even on the side. Wherever it is, you can be reasonably certain that the sound quality will be soft and tinny. There's no way to adjust the recording quality or sensitivity, so the only way you can improve the sound is to get closer to your subject. Ask your subjects to speak directly into the camera. And try to minimize background noise, such as turning off air conditioners or fans, stereos, and TV sets.
