Tip Fun House Effects with Image Resizing

When you resize a photo, you have the option of maintaining proportions (aspect ratio) or resizing the width and height of your picture independently of each other. Be careful of changing proportions, because it can create a fun-house mirror effect, making things in your picture fatter and shorter (when the width is increased without a proportionate increase in the height) or taller and thinner (increasing the height more than the width). The result can be a distortion that might be fun, but it won't be accurate or realistic. On the other hand, if Aunt Mabel is always complaining that your photos of her make her look too fat, perhaps a slight distortion to help herfeel better about herself might be just the trick.
