Let's face it. Only some photos are great. Others are good. Some you hold onto just because of the memories they invoke, even though they really aren't well exposed or nicely composed. When you do a search for specific photos, usually it's because you want to use the pictures, and that means you really want to see only those that are at least good quality. That's where the rating systems come in. In many photo managers, you can rate your pictures, usually using a five-star scale. How you define what makes a five-star (top-quality) photo as opposed to a three or one is up to you.
