Christmas catalogue in next week's issue

Look out for Camera World's Christmas catalogue, which comes free with next week's AP. The store tells us that the catalogue outlines the benefits of different cameras -rather than being just a listing of models-and is written in an 'informative' style. Advertised bargains are expected to include 'refurbished'PentaxKlOOD Super digital SLRs priced at £199 with an 18-55mm lens (Camera World says that many of these are brand new, just with new packaging).

Steve Gosling book signing

AP contributor Steve Gosling will deliver a short talk about pinhole photography, and sign copies of his book 'Lensless Landscapes', in Edinburgh on Saturday 29 November. Steve captured the pictures using a hand-made wooden and brass pinhole camera. The event takes place at 2pm at Beyond Words, 42-44 Cockburn Street, Edinburgh EH11PB. Tel: 0131226 6636.

Camera glitches highlighted

The failure rate of digital cameras sold in China is '12.9%', according to a report at www.chinacsr. com. The biggest areas of dissatisfaction were lens and battery problems, according to the figures released by China's Chamber of Commerce.
