Lightroom

Officially released in January 2007, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is Adobe's photography editing program (see 2-20). It differs from Photoshop in that it is a one-stop photo library and editor. It has all the major features needed by professional photographers to do their job without resorting to opening their work in Photoshop. It has a fully featured image library that allows you to easily catalog and control your work. You have the ability to keyword, rate, group, and flag images for enhanced organization. The development side has everything to develop raw, JPEG, TIFF, and PSD files. You can adjust the exposure, white balance, levels, saturation hue and brightness per color channel, and then save these edits as presets to apply to other images later. It has revolutionized the photographer's workflow.
