Considering the similarities of the two, analysing their respective values throws up some interesting results. Their RRPs vary significantly - Panasonic's LX3 hit the market with a price tag of £399, while, with the recent rise in Canon prices, the RRP for the G10 now sits at £569. However, as is always the case with a camera being on the market for a substantial period of time, the pair's street prices are now £340 and £380 respectively - a fair amount less than their initial RRPs.

Owing to the relative similarity of the pair, the £40 price difference is understandable, and while that places the pair at a price point approaching an entry-level DSLR, the combination of advanced functionality in a compact package means that both are still a good-value proposition WDC
