Scanner Profiles

Most scanners are delivered with generic profiles, but device-specific profiles generally produce much better results. To produce such a profile, a color input target (such as an IT8 card or transparency) is scanned. The profiling software then compares the color values produced with existing digital values and produces a corresponding correction matrix or ICC profile. All color management software has to be deactivated during profiling.
